Clinical Psychology
If you are suffering from depression, anxiety or stress or if you are having difficulties with your relationships or life in general, it can be beneficial to see a professional to talk things through. If you are suicidal or having thoughts of self harm, it is essential you talk to someone who can help - call 000 or Life Line on 13 11 14 now if you feel this way at the moment. The Psychology service I provide is a collaborative process, whereby I listen and discuss your situation and then work with you to develop strategies to help you through the difficult time you are having. Sometimes, solutions can come from just having a conversation and workshopping some ideas. In other situations, we can use the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) frameworks to help develop solutions. CBT is an approach which is directed toward challenging a person's cognitions ( i.e. thoughts, beliefs, assumptions etc) and behaviours, in order to modify a person's perceptions in order to achieve a better emotional outcome. The idea behind this is that it isn't a situation that causes a person's emotional response, instead it is what a person thinks about the situation that leads to their emotional reaction. There are many techniques which I use within the framework of CBT which have been proven to help people overcome issues that they have been facing. If you are having issues and need someone to talk to, give me a call on 0400 809 050 to make an appointment to discuss how we can work to together to get your life back on track. I have experience in dealing with a range of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, PTSD, bipolar disorder and OCD. |
